Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has arrived in Azerbaijan.

Axar.az informs that, the purpose of the visit is to attend the next meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to be held in Baku.

"The meeting will consider a complex of cooperation in the field of defense and military security," the spokesman of the Russian Defense Ministry said.

He added that in 2019, the military cooperation is to be finalized, as well as consideration of the draft concept of military cooperation of the CIS countries until 2025.

Decisions will be made on topography, metrology, information support of military activities and other spheres. The next meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS member states will be held in Baku tomorrow.

Representatives of the Ministries of Defense of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will attend the meeting.
