European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell have called on the United States to reconsider its decision to cut ties with the World Health Organization (WHO).

Axar.az informs that, in a joint statement, Ursula von der Leyen and Josep Borrell said the EU-led World Health Assembly had decided to independently investigate the findings in the fight against coronavirus.

"We must find common solutions to the global threat and develop cooperation. Steps that undermine international outcomes must be prevented. We therefore urge the United States to reconsider its decision."

President Donald Trump has announced that the United States has cut ties with the WHO.
