US sanctions against Syria are nothing but economic terrorism.

Axar.az reports that, the statement came from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani during a trilateral video conference with Russian and Turkish leaders.

Rouhani said that the United States will not be able to achieve what it could not achieve through military pressure, economic sanctions and punishment of the Syrian people:

"The Astana process is the only option that contributes to a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis. A lot has been gained during this period. It is the duty of 3 countries to protect and develop them. Iran believes in a political solution to the Syrian crisis. This issue will not be resolved by military means."
