Turkey is very close to signing a free trade agreement with Britain.
Axar.az reports that the statement came from Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavusoglu in an interview with the Financial Times.
The Minister said that the terms of the contract cover industry, agricultural products and services:
"We are close to concluding discussions on the issue. Only some technical issues need to be resolved. If you look at the volume of our bilateral trade, 95 per cent of it is an industry and 5 per cent is agricultural products and services. We have agreed on this."
The Foreign Minister reminded that Britain is a strategic ally of Turkey:
"At the same time, we have agreed to increase bilateral trade with Britain in the post-Brexit period. In this context, we have set a target of $ 20 billion."
