Armenia's gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 5.71 per cent in the first six months of this year. The decline has affected all sectors of the Armenian economy.
Axar.az reports that the statement came from economist Tigran Crbashyan.
The expert said that the country's expenditures also decreased by 1.5 per cent in the first six months:
"It's a very bad indicator," he said. The pandemic has paralyzed the emerging light industry. The 5.71 per cent decline is a wake-up call for the country's economy. There was a 3.2 per cent decline last year. We called it a tragedy. Now the state of the country's economy has reached the point of uncontrollable crisis.
