PACE co-rapporteurs to visit Azerbaijan in mid-June

Co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan Stefan Schennach and Cezar Preda will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on June 15.

The purpose of the visit is to monitor the partial re-run of parliamentary election to be held Aghdash Constituency No.90 on June 18.

The PACE co-rapporteurs will also hold meetings and investigate Azerbaijan’s fulfillment of its obligations to the Council of Europe.

Note that 5 PACE observers have registered at the Central Election Commission to monitor the repeated election. The mission is headed by Jordi Xuclà, who was head of the PACE observation mission during the election for the Azerbaijani parliament on 1 November 2015.
