Turkey's purchase of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems poses a problem for NATO.
Axar.az reports that the statement came from US Assistant Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, who is on a visit to Turkey.
He said he had offered alternative routes to the S-400 sanctions imposed on Turkey.
"The decision is Ankara's. I hope we can find a common path. This technical detail is not a political issue. Turkey is aware of the situation and knows the steps it will take. We also discussed how to take these steps. This will be Turkey's decision."
