More than 5,000 prisoners have been pardoned in Iran

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has approved a proposal by Supreme Court Chairman and newly elected President Ibrahim Raisi to pardon or commute the sentences of 5,156 prisoners.

Axar.az informs this was reported by the Iranian media.

The pardon decision, dedicated to Imam Rza's birthday and trial week, applied to those convicted by state penitentiaries, revolutionary courts and the armed forces.
