Turkey shares the burden of NATO membership, as well as all the values of the alliance.

Axar.az reports that "NATO has been a cornerstone of European security since World War II. We believe that NATO is the most successful alliance in history and is as active as ever."

He noted that Turkey is one of the oldest members of NATO (joined the alliance in 1952).

Akar stressed that despite facing many terrorist threats in the Middle East, Turkey has consistently contributed to the alliance's training, power structure and personnel.

He added that the country is doing its best to protect NATO and European borders from terrorism, smuggling and human trafficking.
