Future variants of coronavirus may be more contagious than Omicron.

Axar.az infrms that this was stated by Maria van Kerhove, an expert of the World Health Organization (WHO).

"The more widespread the virus, the more likely it is to change. Omicron will not be the last option we will discuss, and there is a very real possibility that there will be concerns in the future," he said.

He stressed that the properties of the new strains of coronavirus are not yet known, but there is no doubt that they will be more contagious, as they will have to surpass the currently circulating variants.
