The sale of the F-16 could soften US-Turkish relations, but tensions with Russia prevent it.

Axar.az reports this was reported by the Wall Street Journal.

The publication said that members of the US Congress were concerned about Erdogan's closeness with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"Ankara officials say Turkey's purchase of the F-16 could improve relations between the two countries. But congressmen are criticizing Turkey's growing ties with Russia.

The newspaper said that US arms control laws require Biden to notify Congress. Congress may consider or block the proposal. Biden has not yet officially notified Congress of the proposal.
