The 27 member states of the European Union intend to officially grant Ukraine candidate status this week. No one opposed the decision at a meeting of EU officials on Monday.

Axar.az informs this was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.

"The EU also intends to support the opinion of the European Commission on granting candidate status to Moldova, as well as Georgia, first of all, if it meets certain additional conditions. EU leaders will meet in Brussels on June 23-24. It is expected that Ukraine will officially become a candidate for EU membership during this summit. The final decision on granting the status and any additional conditions must be approved by all member states, " the statement said.
