During the medical examination of the imprisoned ex-president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, arsenic was detected in his body.

Axar.az reports that Saakashvili's lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze informed about this.

"We haven't received the nail tests yet, they will arrive today, but it turned out over the phone that the tests revealed another toxic substance - arsenic," he said.

The lawyer noted that Saakashvili's condition is serious and a special chair is needed to move him.

"Although his situation is serious, Saakashvili is expected to participate in the court hearing on the illegal crossing of the border for the first time in a long time."
