The collective West is losing its position in a number of African countries, while Russia is strengthening its position in these countries.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the head of the EU General Staff, Lieutenant General Michel van der Laan.

"Many Western countries, including the United States, are being pushed out of Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso and other countries. If we do not take action, this will cause problems in the future, because we will see mass migration to Europe. Migration is not a problem. But with migration comes terrorism and crime. And we cannot allow it to enter the European territory, so we are looking for an integrated approach to expand our efforts in Africa.

But the current reality is that we are losing positions: in Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and some other countries..." he said.
