Iran's leader, Ali Khamenei, has commented for the first time on the collapse of Bashar al-Assad's regime.

Axar.az reports that he stated that the events in Syria were planned by three countries.

"The events that have occurred in Syria were planned by three countries: the United States, Israel, and one of Syria’s neighbors," Khamenei said.

His omission of Turkiye's name, while making a "reference," did not go unnoticed.
