US President Donald Trump did not want to receive Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington, but French President Emmanuel Macron dissuaded him from his decision.

“Yesterday, Zelensky was supposed to come to Washington, but someone from the Trump administration said: 'Listen, Volodymyr, there is no point in booking a plane, don’t come, all meetings have been canceled, President Trump will not receive you,” said the channel’s journalist Patrick Sos.

According to him, after that, Zelensky called Macron and asked him to dissuade Trump from his decision. Because he hoped to sign an agreement on Ukrainian minerals in Washington. Moreover, this visit was supposed to have a strong symbolic meaning.

According to diplomatic sources cited by the journalist, after that, the French president called the owner of the White House, convinced him to receive Zelensky, and gave him guarantees.
