A 5.2-magnitude earthquake has occurred in northern Iran, in the East Azerbaijan province.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located at a depth of 7 km.

The tremors were recorded 36 km southwest of the city of Tufarqan (Azarshahr).
