Ten earthquakes were recorded within an hour and a half near the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Russia’s Kamchatka region.

The strongest earthquake occurred in the morning with a magnitude of 7.4.
In total, the magnitudes of all the earthquakes ranged between 5 and 7. The earthquake epicenters were located 130–160 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and the hypocenters were at a depth of 10–20 km.
A tsunami threat has been declared on the Kamchatka Peninsula. According to forecasts, a wave of up to 60 cm may reach the coasts of the Aleutian Islands, a 40 cm wave may approach the Ust-Kamchatsky district, and a 15 cm wave could reach near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has called on residents to evacuate coastal areas.
