The demonstrators demanding the resignation of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan have broken into the building of the Armenian capital city administration May 16.

Axar.az informs, RIA Novosti reported.

Participants of the action are trying to go to the Mayor's Office. A number of police officers and City Hall employees have blocked the way.

Opponents of the mayor accuse him of inefficient activity and lack of accountability. Participants of the action, in particular, are angry because the trees in a small park near the City Hall have been cut down.

Margaryan is a member of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia, which passed into opposition after the election of the leader of the Yelq faction Nikol Pashinyan as Prime Minister May 8.
