Azerbaijan has expressed its readiness to increase the volume of Kazakh oil it receives to 2.2 million tons per year.
Axar.az reports, citing Kazinform, that Kazakh oil is currently transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline at an annual volume of approximately 1.2 million tons.
Additional export routes under consideration include transportation through the BTC pipeline system, shipments across the Caspian Sea via Azerbaijan, and the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
Part of Kazakhstan’s oil volumes were redirected to alternative transportation routes following temporary restrictions on oil intake by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in July.
