Azerbaijan imported 1,441 tons of fresh or dried pineapples worth $1.91 million in January-June this year.
Axar.az informs, citing Rеport, that based on data from the State Statistical Committee, the value of imports increased by 5.6% compared with the same period of 2025, while the volume rose by 1%.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 1,015.2 tons of pineapples from Costa Rica worth $1.22 million. Compared with a year earlier, the value of imports from Costa Rica declined by 11.5%, while the volume fell by 18.4%.
Imports from Panama amounted to 294.3 tons worth $344,600, with the value increasing 12-fold and the volume rising 13-fold.
Azerbaijan also imported 63.7 tons of pineapples from Thailand worth $244,000, down 7.2% in volume and 13.5% in value.
Imports from China totaled 65 tons worth $90,000. The value increased by 2.3%, while the volume declined by 4.4%.
Azerbaijan imported 0.43 tons of pineapples from Iran worth $4,110. The value increased fivefold, while the volume fell by 22%.
Azerbaijan also resumed pineapple imports from Vietnam after a break of 8 years and 1 month, purchasing 0.02 tons worth $200.
In 2025, Azerbaijan imported 3,033 tons of pineapples, with Costa Rica accounting for 81% of the total.
