Azerbaijan imports 631,686 tons of wheat in seven months

Azerbaijan imported 631,686 tons of wheat worth $143.457 million in January-July 2026.

Axar.az informs, citing Rеport, that based on data from the State Statistical Committee, the value of wheat imports increased by 2.4% compared with the same period of 2025, while the volume declined by 2.3%.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 505,999 tons of wheat from Russia worth $115.27 million. Compared with a year earlier, the value of imports from Russia increased 5.6-fold, while the volume rose 5.8-fold.

Imports from Kazakhstan amounted to 125,685 tons worth $28.18 million, down 77.5% in volume and 76% in value.

Azerbaijan also imported 1.6 tons of wheat from Türkiye worth $800, representing decreases of 81.3% in volume and 87.2% in value.

Wheat imports from Serbia totaled 0.01 tons worth $10, while there were no supplies from Serbia a year earlier.

In July alone, Azerbaijan imported 46,633 tons of wheat, including 42,144 tons from Russia. These figures were 5.8% and 59% higher, respectively, than a year earlier.

In 2025, Azerbaijan imported 1.267 million tons of wheat, with Kazakhstan accounting for 52.26% of the total and Russia for 47.73%.
