According to the State Statistical Committee, Azerbaijan was visited by 2 006,2 thousand foreigners last year, while number of Azerbaijani citizens who went abroad was 4 095,8.

1 921,9 thousand of the foreigners came to Azerbaijan as tourists. 668,8 thousand of them came for leisure, 632,3 thousand for business tourism, 36,5 thousand for health tourism and 11,5 thousand for religious tourism.

As for Azerbaijani citizens who went abroad, 3 256,2 thousand of them went as tourists. 1 045,2 thousand for leisure, the same amount for business tourism, 140 for health tourism and 133,5 for religious tourism.

Most of the tourists in 2015 were coming to Azerbaijan from Russia (685 555, as opposed to 843 851 in 2014), Georgia (571 648, as opposed to 699 532) and Iran (149 600, as opposed to 131 179).
