The Iranian rial has hit a new record low against the U.S. dollar.

Axar.az reports that on Tuesday, the exchange rate fell to 1,036,000 rials per dollar.

According to experts, the sharp decline follows Washington’s announcement of new restrictions on Iran’s oil sector last week.

It is worth noting that in 2018, the exchange rate was approximately 55,000 rials per dollar.
