The gates to Glastonbury Festival opened this morning as festival goers transformed the Somerset farm into a city of more than 200,000 people as revelers prepare to bask in a 91F (33C) heatwave.

Axar.az reports citing Daily mail.

Happy campers clad with multiple backpacks lugged crates of beer as they descended on the campsite this morning, cramming into snaking queues as the first day of shows gets underway.

Fans reveled in the humid sunshine as they donned Dr. Martens and wellies while traipsing into the site, dragging with them wheelbarrows, crates of beer and toilet roll as the gates opened this morning.

One music fan came prepared for floods sporting a unicorn inflatable rubber ring around her waist while showing off a get-up of denim shorts and a houndstooth crop top.

She set up camp amid hundreds of tents as her friends chugged on cider and played the ukulele while sporting festival-forward fashion looks including red dungarees, and wellies.

Another young woman opted for a blue and lilac tutu and no top, with just rhinestones covering her modesty.

Others coming by train were less lucky and spent a long time just trying to get out of Castle Cary Railway Station, which was packed with music-lovers trying to escape via narrow staircases.

Despite arriving to sodden mud underfoot, fans will soon be watching their favourite bands while temperatures of up to 86F (30C) beat down on them.

Experts at the Met Office have predicted temperatures could hit record highs for June in the south of the UK - beating the previous record of 96F (35.6C) recorded in Southampton in 1976.

A Met Office forecaster added: 'It's possible we could see that beaten this weekend.'
