Famous French photojournalist of Azerbaijani origin Reza Deghati has taken new photos of Khankendi.

Axar.az reports that Deghati, who shared the photos on his social network accounts, also provided readers with information about the history of the city.

Khankendi or "Khan's Village" was founded in the late 17th century by Panah Ali Khan Javanshir, the founder of the Karabakh khanate and the city of Shusha. The city was mainly used as a gathering place for Khan and his family,” the photographer wrote.
