The intervention in the historical monument in Baku was prevented.
Axar.az reports that the State Service for Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture has released information about this.
It was noted that it was discovered that the architectural monument of local importance, inventory number 3753, located at 131 Tolstoy Street, Yasamal district, had been tampered with.
When the monument was inspected by the employees of the Baku Regional Office of the State Service, the fact of interference was immediately prevented. The paint applied to the monument's facade was cleaned, additional devices were dismantled, and the historical building was returned to its original appearance.
It was pointed out that the restoration, conservation, repair, reconstruction, regeneration, and other works on the monuments should be carried out after their projects have been approved by the Ministry of Culture, considering the opinion of the relevant institutes of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
Otherwise, any repair and restoration works are considered interference with the historical monument, and violation of the legislation on the protection of monuments creates criminal, administrative, disciplinary, and civil liability per the current law.
Actions are taken according to the law regarding the fact.
