The visit of the delegation led by the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Boris Kollar to the city of Shusha ended on September 6 in the Jıdır plain.
Axar.az reports that the Slovak delegation was given information about the Jıdır plain. It was reported that our heroic soldiers showed great bravery and climbed the steep rocks to the Jidir plain and freed Shusha from occupation at the cost of their lives and blood. Today, Jıdır plain has become a place where great events are held, as it was before the occupation.
It was added that Cıdır plain is the only and largest smooth area of the city located in the heart of the mountains. For this reason, horse races of Karabakh braves, chess games, Nowruz, and other hand festivities have been held here since ancient times. Jidir plain has always been the favourite place and resort of Shusha residents and guests visiting Shusha. The amazing view from here is fascinating.
It was reported that "Kharibulbul" music festivals were held every year in May in the Jıdır plain, which is one of the main recreation areas of the population and tourists.
Due to the occupation of Shusha by Armenia on May 8, 1992, this sacred place was preserved in cultural and artistic works and was not forgotten.
After the great Victory achieved in the Patriotic War, President Ilham Aliyev declared the city of Shusha the Cultural Capital of the country with his Decree dated May 7, 2021. With this Decree, the Vaqif Poetry Days and the "Kharibulbul" festival were also restored.
It should be noted that this is Boris Kollar's second visit to the Jidir plain. Before that, he was here on June 11 last year.
