Former US President George Bush Jr. said that he was shocked when he found out that "Wagner" manager Yevgeny Prigozhin served him a dinner 17 years ago.
Axar.az reports that "Business Insider" has published information about this.
During his speech at the Yalta conference on European strategy, Bush was asked whether he was shocked by the news of Prigozhin's death in a plane crash. The conference was held in Kyiv, but Bush attended via video link.
"No, what shocked me is that I saw a photo the other day from the G8 summit in St. Petersburg, where Prigozhin was the one who served the food. He was Putin's cook, he is also in the photo," said George Bush.
Bush noted that he did not remember meeting this man in person:
"All I know is that I survived (indicates that Prigozhin did not poison him - ed.).
It should be noted that the photo was taken on July 14, 2006, during the dinner of George Bush and his wife with Putin. Prigozhin appears to be pouring a drink on Bush.
The dinner took place within the framework of the 32nd G8 summit at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg. Russia hosted the G8 meeting for the first time.
At that time, Washington and Moscow discussed the possibilities of further development of trade between the two countries and Russia's entry into the World Trade Organization.
