French soldiers have arrived in Armenia.

Axar.az reports that 56 soldiers of the French civil security forces, 2 "Dash" planes, 1 mobile control station, 2 tons of equipment and 2 rescue dogs arrived in Yerevan yesterday evening.

The official information states that the French military will participate in the "HOPE 2023" exercise together with the rescuers of Armenia and the European Union. Search and rescue teams of Cyprus and Montenegro are also in Armenia.

Although the French military delegation came to Armenia to participate in "civil security" exercises, this is notable against the background of official Paris military cooperation with Yerevan. Recently, France has been taking steps to increase its role in the security of Armenia. Yerevan, which follows the Henri-Russian political line, intends to leave the CSTO and replace the Russians with the French. In this regard, it is not excluded that military personnel from France will be deployed to Armenia for "civil security" exercises.
