October 18 - On the occasion of Independence Day, the three-colour, moon-star Azerbaijan flag was once again hung from a huge flagpole in Bowling Green Park, which is considered the symbol of New York and the financial centre of Wall Street.

Axar.az reports that the ceremony was organized by the members of the Azerbaijan-New York Association in one of the most visited streets by tourists.

Our compatriots living in New York, representatives of the New York City Hall, Azerbaijani diplomats working in the United States, and representatives of the local community took part in the ceremony.

Our tricolour flag was raised to the sky of New York under the sounds of the national anthem of Azerbaijan. The flag of our country flew in the sky together with the US flag.

Tourists visiting the region took pictures in the background of our garden.

It should be noted that "Bowling Green" park, which is the first official park of New York City and is known as the huge flag square, will host the Azerbaijani flag for 10 days from today. On October 27, the Azerbaijani flag on the square will be replaced by the Turkish flag on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkiye.
