President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahman on November 24.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the meeting, said:

- Dear Emomali Sharipovich, I greet you in Azerbaijan. Nice to meet you again. Thank you for accepting the invitation and attending the SPECA Program Summit. It is another good opportunity to meet, talk and discuss the agenda of both bilateral and multilateral cooperation. I would also like to thank you once again for your invitation to attend the meeting of the Advisory Council of Central Asian Heads of State as the only guest of honour. I appreciate it. I consider it a sign of friendship and respect.

Our relations are developing very successfully. Recently, we have repeatedly discussed the development of bilateral relations with you in various fields. I am sure that your current visit will be important from the point of view of strengthening our relations. Members of our delegations are already in close contact, they met yesterday and continue today. There are many plans and projects. The most important thing is the brotherhood of our people, I am sure that it is our common future.

I say "Welcome" again. I hope you have a nice time.

Then President Emomali Rahman gave a speech and said:

- Dear Ilham Heydar oglu, thank you very much. Thank you for the invitation to SPECA's anniversary Summit. Thank you for the warm welcome.

Our bilateral interaction is developing dynamically both in the field of trade and at the humanitarian level. We are happy for the success of our Azerbaijani friends, your country is developing. You rightly noted that in recent years, especially after your state visit to Dushanbe, our ministries and departments have started very active cooperation. Many programs are being developed, which we are talking about now. Thank you for your invitation. We are preparing for next year's trip. We are working on it now and our respective authorities are working together. I think this will give a strong impetus to our bilateral relations. Today, I am ready to discuss with you the current situation and prospects of our relations, and regional problems.
