Delhi is now providing the Akash system to Armenia -

Armenia has become one of the largest importers of Indian weapons. There are reports that the country may acquire India's Akash short-range surface-to-air missile system.

Axar.az reports that "Eurasiantimes.com" published the information.

The information states that due to the sensitivity of the situation, the information has not been officially confirmed yet, but there are already order documents related to the sale.

"Akash" system was produced by "Bharat Dynamics Limited". The system is designed to protect sensitive areas and points from air attack. The system can engage multiple targets both in group and autonomous mode and has built-in electronic countermeasures (ECCM) capabilities. "Akash" can be placed on mobile platforms as a whole.

It should be noted that in 2020, Armenia bought four mobile "Swati" radar systems from India, and in September 2022, a $245 million contract was signed for the purchase of "Pinaka" rocket launchers, anti-tank missiles and various types of ammunition.

India will also supply MArG 155 self-propelled howitzers and Zen Anti-Drone System (ZADS), along with 30 mm and 40 mm grenades.
