As we reported, today in the port of Feodosia in Crimea, the large landing ship "Novocherkassk" belonging to the Russian Black Sea Fleet was shot down by the Ukrainian Navy.

Axar.az reports that the ship was built in 1987 in Gdansk, Poland, and put into operation on November 30 of that year.

The ship is designed for amphibious landings and the transportation of troops and cargo by sea. It can carry various types of armoured vehicles, including tanks.

"Novocherkassk" is 112.5 meters long and 15 meters wide. The weight of the ship in normal condition is 3450 tons, and with cargo, it reaches 4080 tons.

The ship's crew consists of 87 people.

"Novocherkassk" is armed with two 57 mm 2-barrel AK-725 machine guns, two 20-barrel 122 mm "Grad" rocket launchers and a "Strela" anti-aircraft missile complex.
