Azerbaijanis living in France are protesting.
Axar.az reports that the Azerbaijani community in this country gathered in front of the statue of the great Azerbaijani poetess of the 19th century, Khurshidbanu Natavan, in Evian-les-Bains, France.
The purpose of this meeting, organized by the European Azerbaijanis Coordination Council and the Congress of European Azerbaijanis, is to protest against the recent acts of vandalism against the statue.
With this protest action, the French Azerbaijanis bring to the attention of the French public and media the symbolic meaning and moral value of Natavan's statue for the Azerbaijani community.
The demonstration is held with the permission of the local authorities.
Azerbaijanis living in Paris, Strasbourg, Berlin, and Geneva gathered in the protest action in various cities of France and Europe.
Police were involved to ensure security in the area.
