An explosion occurred at the thermal power plant located in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

As a result of the incident, 5 people were injured, two of them were sent to outpatient treatment. The condition of two people with burn injuries is serious, and one person is in moderate condition.

Due to the explosion, there was a problem with heating energy in a large part of the city. Emergencies Minister Babek Ajikayev announced that the restoration of the heat supply would be possible within 5-7 days.

It is noted that schools in the capital have switched to distance learning until Monday.

The President of the country Sadir Japarov personally took control of the situation. Although he visited Kazakhstan to participate in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, he returned to Bishkek due to a well-known incident.

There are claims that the explosion was a provocation.
