Armenia plans to build new sections of the road instead of the road that goes beyond the borders of Soviet Armenia.

According to information, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference that such roads exist especially in Yukhari Eskipara.

Armenian media writes that "a small part crosses the de jure borderline and then re-enters the territory of Armenia. We are talking about the part of the road going to Georgia."

According to the Prime Minister, during the negotiations with Baku earlier, it was not excluded that this part could be kept for Armenia by exchanging territory. But then he emphasized that it was refused because it created further uncertainties. Therefore, Pashinyan believes that it is better to build a new road.

"By the way, according to the map of the Cadastre Committee, the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan passes through a bridge near the village of Kirants. However, according to Google Maps, the territory of Azerbaijan goes deeper than Armenia by more than 100 meters," the report says.
