Iran has urgently recalled its ambassador in Baku -

Iran's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Abbas Mousavi, was released from his post today.

Axar.az reports that his release from his position was connected with the fact that he has been working in this position since 2020 and the end of his term of office.

However, there were still 5 months before the end of Abbas Musavi's term of office. Thus, Abbas Musavi arrived in Azerbaijan on August 21, 2020.

The same process applies to the previous ambassador - Javad Jahangirzade. Javad Jahangirzade was appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan on August 28, 2016.

Iran changes its ambassadors every 4 years, in the second half of August.

Second, when the ambassador's term of office expires, a new ambassador is already appointed. In the information released by IRNA today, there is no question of the identity of the new ambassador. This means that Abbas Mousavi was prematurely dismissed and recalled: "due to a serious violation".

The issue is that the Iranian official media has been campaigning against Abbas Mousavi for several days now. While giving an interview at the embassy building in Baku, they criticized the journalist (Baku TV employee) for her clothes and called for her resignation. The official Iranian media considered it an insult to the laws of Iran for the female journalist to enter the Iranian embassy with her head uncovered, but also in a skirt, and to be interviewed in such a way. It was reminded that earlier Iranian ambassadors in Europe were punished for the same mistake.

What "disturbed" the Iranian media was the fact that the Azerbaijani journalist was sitting next to the Azerbaijani flag. In the critical material published by "Tasnim" today, it was noted that the Azerbaijani journalist is not an official person and that his display of the Azerbaijani flag while being interviewed at the Iranian embassy does not fit into the rules of diplomatic etiquette.

In any case, the Iranian media, which did not accept that the installation of the flag was a sign of respect for the country represented by the ambassador and was always jealous of the Tricolor Flag, did more propaganda against it. It seems that the reason for Musavi's dismissal is the Azerbaijani flag that appeared next to the journalist when the ambassador gave an interview, rather than the fact that the journalist did not have a headscarf.

"Tasnim" even stated that this flag was brought by the Azerbaijani journalist himself and strongly condemned Musavi for allowing this flag to appear in the frame during the interview.

Thus, it is clear that Abbas Mousavi was punished and fired for the interview with the "bareheaded female journalist" and most importantly for the flag of Azerbaijan, which has not been on the agenda of Iran's official media for several days.
