The delegation of the Ministry headed by Major General Ashraf Gasimov, the head of the aviation unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, visited Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Turkiye, on April 23-26, 2024.
Axar.az reports that within the framework of the visit, Ashraf Gasimov, who met with the Commander of the Gendarmerie Air Force of the Republic of Turkiye, Lieutenant General Ali Dogan, emphasized that the relations between the relevant institutions of Azerbaijan and Turkiye are developing on an upward trend, and drew attention to the fact that the existing cooperation is expanding year by year. The Commander of the Gendarmerie Air Force of the Republic of Turkiye, Lieutenant General Ali Dogan, emphasized the importance of the assistance provided by the Azerbaijani side during the emergencies that occurred in Turkiye in recent years - in extinguishing the forest fires in 2021-2022 and in eliminating the consequences of the terrible earthquake in 2023.
During the meeting, the importance of the joint action of the aviation forces of the relevant institutions of both countries, the organization of trainings, and the exchange of experience in rescue and evacuation issues was emphasized.
Also, within the framework of the visit, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had a meeting with Temel Kotill, the general director of the Turkish Aviation and Space Industry Company (TUSAŞ). At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on a number of issues of mutual interest.
During the visit, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs got acquainted with the activities of the Gendarmerie Air Force Command of Turkiye.
