On May 1, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev received the delegation headed by the Economy Minister of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov at the Tashkent Investment Forum.

M. Jabbarov conveyed the sincere greetings and good wishes of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the head of our state.

At the meeting, issues of further development and deepening of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan strategic partnership relations, as well as expansion of practical cooperation in the context of the implementation of previously reached agreements, were considered.

Last year, mutual trade turnover increased by 27 percent, and by 15 percent since the beginning of the year. Cooperation projects are implemented in the automotive industry, energy, agriculture, electrical engineering, textiles, tourism, and other industries.

During the conversation, the importance of increasing the portfolio of projects, including the funds of the Joint Investment Company, was emphasized.
