The special forces of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces are participating in two large international military exercises in Turkiye.
Axar.az reports that one of them is EFES-2024, and the other is Anadolu Ankası-2024.
EFES-2024 training is held in two phases, from April 25 to May 8 and from May 9 to 30. A total of 1,567 personnel from 49 countries are participating in the multinational training held in Istanbul and Izmir, Turkiye. These countries are Turkiye Azerbaijan, Germany, USA, Albania, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Philippines, France, Gambia, Guinea, Georgia, Italy, Cameroon, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Korea, Congo, Kosovo, Kuwait, North Macedonia, Egypt, Latvia, Libya, Hungary, Mali, Mexico, Mongolia, Moldova, Niger, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Poland, Rwanda, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
EFES-2024 will be the largest training in terms of the number of participants among EFES series trainings held to date. As part of the training, a defence industry exhibition will be opened by 48 defence industry companies at the Doganbey Training Field in Seferihisar, Izmir on May 28. The elite observer day of the Actual Range Phase of the exercise will be held on May 29-30.
In addition, the Anadolu Ankası-2024 international exercise is being held at the 3rd Main Jet Base Command in Konya with the participation of Azerbaijan, Qatar, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.
The purpose of the exercise, which covers May 6-17, is to test and improve the command and control process within the framework of personnel rescue operations, to increase the level of interaction with other countries in combat conditions with the elements of the personnel rescue operation group, as well as to identify areas of cooperation.
On May 16, the press day of the exercise will be held, in which foreign partners will also participate, along with the General Command of the Gendarmerie and the Special Forces Command of Turkiye.
