On November 4, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Baku Olympic Stadium to review the facilities set up for COP29.

Axar.az reports that the President's assistant Anar Alakbarov provided a detailed report to the head of state and the First Lady about the conditions created for the upcoming event.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva inspected the electric mini-mobility vehicles designated for cargo and passenger transport, as well as medical and fire safety purposes, that will be used during COP29. They also looked at golf carts and electric buses intended for the movement of high-level guests during the summit, along with other electric transport vehicles that will operate in the city during the event.

The head of state and the First Lady visited the “Nizami” Plenary Hall, where national statements will be delivered during the opening ceremony in the official Blue Zone of COP29. They also examined the venues prepared for the World Leaders’ Summit on Climate Action and various multifunctional meeting rooms designated for official negotiations. It was noted that there are various exhibits promoting Azerbaijan's culture and nature. Currently, pre-session meetings under COP29 are being held in the Blue Zone, which will soon be handed over to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The President and First Lady reviewed the accreditation and registration processes. Detailed information was provided about the delegations that have registered for the conference, indicating significant interest in the event.

While observing the area where pavilions from other countries and parties are located, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva got acquainted with the construction processes of Azerbaijan and other country pavilions. They also visited the Green Zone, which will serve as a platform for broad participant engagement and public access, featuring the joint pavilion of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Zero Waste Fund, along with other partners’ and countries’ exhibition stands. Detailed information was provided about the overall concept of the Green Zone and the high-level conferences and events to be held there.
