President Ilham Aliyev: Congratulations.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Congratulations. A successful beginning.
President Ilham Aliyev: It is written here in both Azerbaijani and Uzbek. The words are the same.
This factory is another symbol of our unity. I thank my brother Shavkat Miromonoviç, as our Uzbek friends helped create this beautiful facility in Khankendi, where thousands of people, mostly women, will work. This is employment, this is production, this is the development of Karabakh. Our Uzbek brothers were again the first to help us. They were the first to assist in building a school in Fuzuli, and they were the first to help us create such a large facility in the liberated territories.
I would like to express my gratitude once again to Shavkat Miromonoviç, all our Uzbek friends and brothers for their fraternal relations, and I congratulate you on the opening of this facility.
It is worth noting that the construction of this sewing factory was carried out based on the instructions of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to deepen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. The total investment in the project amounts to 11 million manat. Joint industrial cooperation is being carried out for the procurement of raw materials for the factory. The facility will operate based on both local and Uzbek raw materials. The factory will make a significant contribution to increasing non-oil exports in the region. 80% of the products produced will be exported to various countries. The factory, covering an area of 1.2 hectares, will produce 3-5 million pieces of various knitted products annually. A total of 800 jobs will be created. In the initial phase of the project, 250 professionally trained individuals have already been employed. Special attention is given to the employment of citizens returning to the liberated territories and those residing in surrounding areas. The sewing factory, a joint Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan venture, symbolizes successful cooperation between the two countries and opens new opportunities for the development of light industry in Azerbaijan, strengthening our traditional friendship and economic partnership.
