On November 13, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

Axar.az reports that the “Joint Development Agreement” between SOCAR and “Asarel Energy” was signed in the presence of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.

During the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of the signed agreement, highlighting its contribution to strengthening cooperation between the two nations.

The head of state expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian President for attending COP29, noting that this event has already produced fruitful results. He emphasized that despite more than ten years of discussions on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement related to carbon trading, COP29 achieved significant progress on this matter.

President Rumen Radev praised the high level of organization of COP29, underlining that the outcomes of the event will have great significance for the future.

He also expressed satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations.

The meeting discussed new cooperation projects in the field of renewable energy and noted that recent announcements from international financial and banking institutions regarding new financial targets within the COP29 framework hold promising prospects.
