The first New Year holiday after the Assad regime was celebrated in Damascus, the capital of Syria.

Axar.az reports that the residents of Damascus marched to Umayyad Square and Bab Toma Square to celebrate the New Year.

Hundreds of firecrackers were fired into the air in the capital Damascus alone.
