New photos of AZAL’s “Embraer 190” passenger plane, which crashed in Aktau on December 25, 2024, have been released.

Axar.az reports that a close examination of the fuselage and other parts of the wreckage clearly shows that the crash occurred due to external interference.

Shrapnel and impact marks can be seen on the wreckage, ruling out theories of a bird strike or an explosion of a gas cylinder onboard.

It should be noted that on December 25, the AZAL plane operating the Baku-Grozny flight was struck by Russia’s air defense systems over Grozny airspace, sustaining significant damage. Denied permission to land, the plane diverted to Aktau but crashed near Aktau Airport.

Of the 67 people onboard, 38 died, and 29 survived the crash.
