The Spanish company Lladro, renowned worldwide for its porcelain figurines, has released the "Karabakh Horse" for sale in Valencia.
Axar.az reports this information via Minval.
In the company’s promotional bulletin, alongside the figurine’s image, it states:
"The Karabakh horse is one of Azerbaijan’s national symbols. Graceful, confident and resilient, it embodies the value of this country’s traditions and its aspiration to move forward. Our artists have managed to capture this spirit in porcelain, highlighting the beauty and symbolism of this animal. The sculpture features elements of ancient traditions such as the Karabakh carpet, with its distinctive patterns. Every detail has been carefully studied to faithfully portray the horse’s anatomy and to capture the authentic and unique color of these horses."
These statements have sparked outrage among Armenians. Armenian media claims that Karabakh is allegedly a "historical part of Armenia" and that recognizing Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage is "inconsistent with reality." They not only criticized the company’s statement but also called for a boycott of Lladro products.
It should be noted that the price of the porcelain "Karabakh Horse" figurine is 13,480 manat.
