The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to our country, Qasim Mohiuddin.

Warmly welcoming the ambassador, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov recalled that the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have deep historical roots. In this context, the minister expressed confidence that the meeting would make a significant contribution to the development of cooperation between the relevant emergency response agencies of the two countries.

The Minister provided the guest with extensive information about the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, spoke about the importance of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on cooperation in the field of prevention, limitation and mitigation of the consequences of emergency situations”, signed in Islamabad on January 13, 2021, and touched upon the prospects for relations between relevant institutions, including cooperation between the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant educational institutions of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to our country, Qasim Mohiuddin, emphasized that within the framework of the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, there are good opportunities for the development of mutually beneficial relations between the emergency management response agencies of the two countries.

A broad exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest during the meeting.
