As part of the “President’s Cup 2025” international rowing regatta, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev (April 28–May 2), a special event was held for residents relocated to the newly built town in Fuzuli.

Axar.az reports the event held at the Kondalancay reservoir was also attended by the President of the European Canoe Association (ECA), Jean Zoungrana.

Fuzuli residents enjoyed captivating water shows and demonstration performances by rowers at Kondalancay. In addition, entertaining quizzes and intellectual competitions were organized for children and teenagers, and commemorative gifts were presented to guests by the federation. For the first time in Karabakh, residents had the opportunity to try amateur rowing boats themselves.

It should be noted that over 200 athletes from more than 20 countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa will compete in the “President’s Cup 2025” international regatta. The official parade of the competition will take place on April 29 at 14:00 on Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Mingachevir. The opening ceremony and first races of the regatta will be held at the Sugovushan reservoir starting at 11:00 on April 29. The event will then continue on May 1–2 at the Mingachevir “Kur” Olympic Training and Sports Center.
