On May 7, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov was received by President of the Republic of Iraq Abdullatif Jamal Rashid as part of his official visit to the country.

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the current level of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iraq.

The sides exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations, including trade, investment, energy, tourism, and other areas of mutual interest.

Emphasis was placed on strengthening collaboration within multilateral platforms such as the UN, NAM, OIC and CICA. Minister Bayramov also provided detailed information on the region's post-conflict reconstruction efforts and peace agenda.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of deepening the partnership based on mutual respect and shared values.
